Stained countertops are arguably one of the most annoying blights in a kitchen. A kitchen sink is usually below eye level so not very noticeable, while a backsplash can be addressed by a towel rod or fun stickers. Countertop stains, on the other hand, prove difficult to cover because of their practicality and frequent use.
Some great ways to address annoying stains on your countertops include:
Wooden Countertops
With wood, all you need is warm water, some white vinegar, lemons, salt, and a scraper and wiping cloth. Pour some salt over the surface and use the lemon to scrape it on the top. Then wash off the area with warm water and vinegar.
Quartz and Granite Countertops
Quartz and granite are some of the best surfaces available on the market. Most stains can be easily removed with warm water and soap. Stubborn stains can be addressed by applying baking soda paste and leaving it overnight. Clean off the stain and paste with warm water in the morning.
Laminate Countertops
Laminate materials can be cleaned using mild liquid detergent (non-chemical) and water. Pour the detergent over the surface and give it a light scrub. The material you use to clean the surface shouldn’t be too abrasive. If you want to get additional advice on your countertops call us today! Royal Countertops & Tile, your preferred contractor.
