Countertops are relatively easy to take care of. This is especially true of granite countertops. However, there are certain countertop maintenance guidelines we’d like to share with our customers.
Countertop Surfaces
Glazed surfaces are generally easier to clean than unglazed ones. In fact, all-purpose cleaners generally do the job when it comes to glazed surfaces.
Take Note:
Before you get scrubbing on any countertop, make sure it is debris-free.
An effective cleaning would involve a non-metallic brush, a cloth, a sponge, or a cotton mop. Any one of these would work.
As for what cleaner to use … a decent cleaning solution (low in VOC) is perfect.
After that, all you have to do is thoroughly wash off the cleaning solution with clean water. Then wipe off with highly absorbent material, preferably cotton.
Grout
The grout is a little more difficult to handle. It will require industrial-grade grout cleaning agents. This will avoid the build-up of soap scum, oil, and other residues.
You just apply the undiluted cleaner to the affected area. Allow it to dry and wipe or scrub down.
Tip: Do not use these undiluted cleaners for natural stone products.
