Great Countertop Ideas

A great way to transform your kitchen is by focusing on the countertop. Whether it’s an island or runs along the walls, the countertop represents a major section of this room. There are multiple ways to customize this workspace, with many suggestions involving relatively workable budgets and quick-fix solutions. Some great ideas you can implement with your countertop include:

Crystal Glass Countertops

Focusing on the countertop itself and leaving the original foundation can save you a ton of money. There are several Jackson WY countertops you can choose from that will give your workspace a whole new look. A great idea you can apply includes glass countertops. You can choose to use a Plexiglas alternative if you’re worried about active children and numerous accidents.

Skim Coat Concrete

Skim Coat concrete is another great way to change the look of your countertop. This strategy only takes a few hours to apply and the right contractor can even add some intricate patterns to boot. This method of resurfacing helps you hide multiple imperfections, including stains, grout lines, or cracks.

Zinc Templates

Zinc operates more or less like stainless steel but is a more affordable option. A thin metal layer is spread over your countertop’s base, giving it a unique look influenced by the post-World War One era. If you would like to go through additional options call us today! Proper Countertops Maintenance and Care

Countertops are relatively easy to take care of. This is especially true of granite countertops. However, there are certain countertop maintenance guidelines we’d like to share with our customers.

Countertop Surfaces

Glazed surfaces are generally easier to clean than unglazed ones. In fact, all-purpose cleaners generally do the job when it comes to glazed surfaces.

Take Note:

Before you get scrubbing on any countertop, make sure it is debris-free.

An effective cleaning would involve a non-metallic brush, a cloth, a sponge, or a cotton mop. Any one of these would work.

As for what cleaner to use … a decent cleaning solution (low in VOC) is perfect.

After that, all you have to do is thoroughly wash off the cleaning solution with clean water. Then wipe off with highly absorbent material, preferably cotton.

Grout

The grout is a little more difficult to handle. It will require industrial-grade grout cleaning agents. This will avoid the build-up of soap scum, oil, and other residues.

You just apply the undiluted cleaner to the affected area. Allow it to dry and wipe or scrub down.

Tip: Do not use these undiluted cleaners for natural stone products.

Advantage of Granite Countertops in High Traffic Environments

The most appropriate Jackson WY countertops for high traffic areas include granite, quartz, and Corian. But the degree of preference for granite has got to be some kind of record.

These high traffic environments include:

  • The kitchen
  • Public Restrooms
  • Guest and Kid Bathrooms

Generally, they are bathrooms that will be used multiple times a day.

Are you wondering why granite is so widely preferred?

There are 3 major reasons granite is perfect for high traffic environments.

  1. Durability

The durability and f granite is its most attractive quality. In high traffic environments, countertops could be subjected to frequent tension and friction.

Granite withstands scratches and cracks better than any other countertops materials.

  1. Easy to Clean

Since scratches and cracks rarely appear on granite, all they need is occasionally cleaning. They are not high on maintenance demand.

Just use appropriate techniques and your countertops begin to look good as new … literally.

  1. Stylish

Every single piece of a granite countertop is unique in its design. So regardless of where you put it, it embodies durability and style … all in one.

Not to mention the fact that it is mostly a complete slab means that there are no pores for microbial growth. If seamed properly, this still holds true.

Well, we are professionals. Ready to have your high traffic rooms fitted with the perfect granite countertops? Call us today! Royal Countertops and Tile, your preferred contractor!…

White or Black Countertops- Which is Better?

The white and the black countertops are the most used countertop colors. Various homeowners are employing different shades of these countertops.

When to Use White Countertops

There is just one principle for using white countertops. You could either use them to contrast or complement an already dominant theme.

For instance, if the dominant theme is dark-colored (cabinets and tiles) then you could go for white countertops- contrast (white countertops on black background).

But if every other thing in the kitchen is also light-colored, and you still use white countertops- complement (white on white background).

This could fit into both contemporary as well as classic looks.

When to Use Black Countertops

White and black are two sides of the same coin. So whatever principle you apply to the white countertops can also be applied to the black ones.

Black and gray pair wonderfully with white-colored as well as wood-themed settings.

Among both of them, however, no one is absolutely better than the other. It all depends on how you want your kitchen to look.

If you are gunning for a brighter or “family” kitchen, white countertops are perfect.

However black is the new black!! So if you want a more stylish or “single person” kitchen set up, black is perfect.

So for your perfect white or black countertops, call us today! Royal Countertops and Tile, your preferred contractor!…

How to Match Granite Countertops to your Cabinets

Granite countertops are the most sought-after countertops today. Although they are low maintenance and highly durable there is a major flaw. If you make a mistake matching the countertop to the cabinets, you will be stuck with a mistake you can’t fix.

At least without burning a hole in your pocket, it will not be easy to replace either the cabinet or countertops.

Finding the Perfect Granite Countertops

Of course, matching colors will be your first priority. Thankfully, the options are numerous when it comes to granite countertops. One approach to choosing the perfect color is determining if you want the countertops to contrast with or complement your cabinet color.

Next, you should consider living conditions and schedule. What do we mean?

It’s simple … if you will not always have time for maintenance, white countertops might be a bit over the top

Granite countertops are low maintenance, yes. But if your schedule or living style (children) does not make periodic cleaning possible, choose any other light color.

Last but not least, cost. If you are working with a budget, rarer colors or designs might not be in your favor. The rarer a countertop is to acquire, the more expensive it will be.
